Every single piece is hand-printed in our little open screen print space in Leipzig. Screen printing is a stencil printing process. It’s made possible with the help of the screen, through which printing ink is pressed with the squeegee during the printing process. Before the actual printing process, a screen printing frame is prepared with photo emulsion and the design is printed completely black on foil for exposure. Through a UV light source the design gets transferred on the screen. One screen is needed for each colour. As you can see, it’s a very specific technique with lots of steps.
We print our shirts and hoodies with screen printing, because we think it is the best method for achieving high quality and beautiful shirts — for you to love long term. We don’t print industrially, we prefer the individual crafting process, which makes every single piece unique.
From the moment the shirts arrive in our studio, we handle every step of the process locally in Leipzig. The embroidery is handled by a small local business and the printing is done by us, using water based colours. This way, we avoid any harsh chemicals in the printing process and transportation is limited to a minimum.
